In a series of orderly chapters, the authors provide observational and laboratory evidence to support their propositions. About the Author

Brilliant Explanation of How Ideas and Emotions Spread

While reading Malcolm Bradwell's best-selling "The Tipping Point," Bradwell referred to "Emotional Contagion" as "brilliant." So I went to the source and found it just that. It offers rigorous explanations for how ideas and emotions spread, relying on fascinating experimental data from psychology and molecular biology. And the book is never dry or boring; it includes interesting historical and cultural examples as well. I think it's an important and thoroughly accessible work.

Too much theory and selling me on what I already know and wanted more application

I really like the excellent, "Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell and so I got some of the books he sited in the back of his book. I already know and believe in "Emotional Contagion" and all I got was more theory as if they were not sure themselves and were trying to sell me on the idea that emotions affect others. It is a dry read with good information yet I wanted more application instead of more theory so I thought it was an ok book for people new to this idea, yet having practiced Hypnosis, Persuasion and Influence for many years I was hoping for more application instead of more theory. So I rate the book "just ok"
